Leadership is an ongoing journey where we gain knowledge, evolve and develop. Leaders who are continuously learning challenge their own assumptions and bring more knowledge to the table with each conversation. This includes knowledge about themselves, their style, their approach.

Postvention Consulting, LLC provides technical assistance to launch and sustain postvention programs as well as ongoing mentoring for the champions supporting those bereaved by suicide.

Postvention Consulting, LLC is excited to announce our new role in leading the national and international LOSS Team effort founded by Dr. Frank Campbell, Ph.D., LCSW, C.T., and launched in 1997.  View the press release here:

Frank R. Campbell Ph.D., LCSW, C.T.

As the developer of the Active Postvention Model (APM) known as the LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team, I can assure you of the skill, knowledge, and expertise of Denise Meine-Graham.

After she attended a training I did in Ohio, on this concept, she returned to her community and built one of the most successful LOSS Teams in the United States. The passion for helping others get help sooner comes from the hardest education one can experience, real life.  Because suicide had upended her world, she understood what a difference it could be for the newly bereaved to get help sooner and not have to stumble on to the services that may be available.

Stephanie Kelly
Exec. Dir. The Samaritans on Cape Cod and the Islands

Last year, our organization undertook the development of a LOSS Team program to serve our Cape Cod communities during the immediate time after a loss to suicide.  We knew that it was going to be a challenging task for many reasons, but we now know that we couldn’t have done it without Denise and Robbie.

By sharing their personal experience of loss and their journey as they developed their own programs, their knowledge, guidance, and support helped have helped our organization to build the capacity to provide an important support for those who are grieving.

Michelle Bulington, LCSW
State Suicide Prevention Director
DMHA, Indiana FSSA

Denise and Robbie have been fundamental in building our state-level LOSS Team Network. Denise is empathetic, patient, and very knowledgeable of suicide loss work. She is intentional about everything she does and welcomes everyone with open arms and a open heart. I am so grateful to have her support in Indiana.

A Note from Denise...

I am a passionate results-focused leader with over 35 years of experience and a track record of exceeding goals in retail, financial and non-profit industries. I understand the importance of delivering results and developing strong teams.

I am the founder and Director Emerita of LOSS Community Services located in Columbus, Ohio. LOSS is a non-profit organization supporting the bereaved by suicide through suicide postvention programs. During my 7+ years as the Executive Director, LOSS supported over 5,000 people impacted by a suicide loss through a 1st Responder and In Touch program, remembrance events, support groups, and advocacy & education.

With the support of Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, I created a sustainable approach for communities launching suicide postvention programs. I work at community and state-wide levels to launch sustainable, collaborative suicide postvention programs.

I have been recognized for my collaborative approach and have also received awards for my contributions to suicide prevention and postvention initiatives.
